Amendment 13, 14, and 15
Lately, the country has been a land of utter chaos. But now, the government is finally stepping in and standing up for the foundations of America. Congress recently passed Amendments 13, 14, and 15. The 13th Amendment officially freed all slaves. While the slaves may have considered themselves equal at that time, many Americans still would not give them the rights they deserved, under the argument that the African Americans were not citizens, and therefore were not entitled to the freedoms that other Americans enjoy. Eventually, the 14th Amendment was passed to make slaves official citizens of America. Even though they were now citizens of the United States, African Americans were still being denied the right to vote, which was the basis for Amendment 15, which gave them the right to vote.
